Referees /
Coaches
need to fill out the
Game Cards correctly. Some Game Cards have been turned in with no Team Numbers
or the wrong scores. Before each game, the coach must give the referees an AYSO game card (Lineup Card). These cards should be filled out before each game. Region 28 has adopted
some simple standards for filling out this cards. This will help streamline the
substitution process and simplify record-keeping after the game.
- Make sure your team number, colors and coaches names
are correct.
- List the players numerically by jersey number.
- List the players full names legibly, last name
first.
- List all players on the roster, even if some are
absent or unable to play.
- Do not mark any boxes to indicate when players will
be participating or staying out.
- Fill in the date, time and location of the game.

Rainy Days
Soccer is an all-weather sport; (DO NOT ASSUME) that
there will be no games played due to rain. In the event of rain, the Referee
Admin and Regional Commissioner will then inspect the fields by 6:00 am on the
morning of the games. The coaches will be contacted if games are canceled due to
inclement weather.

We want to thank you for your participation during the new 2008 season.
Each weekend we are reminded by the smiles on the faces of our players, the reason
why we volunteer. Volunteering takes time and effort and we are always
recruiting in order to keep our region operating smoothly. We need volunteers for the Board of Directors and
for many staff positions associated with the operation of the region. Send an
E-mail with your name, address, telephone # and area of interest to:
secretary@ayso28.org or
commissioner@ayso28.org. Thank you for your support!

NEW!

course that all volunteers must take if you are working with youth. This
includes Coaches and Assistants, Referees and Team Managers. If you didn't
get this training in formal classroom instruction, here is your chance to take
it now. You will need your volunteer ID from
eayso.org
then
click here to take the course at aysotraining.org.

No Dogs allowed
Most of our games are played on schools. Our permits with the
district specifically prohibit bringing dogs onto school property, and bringing
dogs onto school property during your child's game jeopardizes our permit in a
city where fields are extremely limited. |

AYSO Philosophy |
|
Everyone Plays:
Our program's goal is for kids to play soccer-so we mandate that every
player on every team must play at least half of every game.
Balanced Teams:
Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible-because it is
fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.
Open Registration:
Our program is open to all children between 4 and 19 years of age who
want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only
criteria for playing.
Positive Coaching:
Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the
players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated
players.
Good Sportsmanship:
We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect
rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to
instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.
