What is Spring Select?
This is a format in which the coach "selects" the kids to play on a team.  There is not an open registration for Spring Select.  It is a more competitive level of Soccer that is similar to All-Stars but is a season to itself.

Spring Select is dedicated to building fundamental soccer skills in a more competitive environment. This is a wonderful opportunity for Coaches and Players to enhance skills, travel and have fun in the Spring sun. This is a Coach Select program, where the coach selects players. The teams will play teams from other regions or organizations and usually include travel. The season which usually runs from early March through end of May. In addition the coach may select to play in certain weekend tournaments.

Cost
The spring season is more expensive than the fall season. Each team pays for its uniforms, registration fees, team events and travel costs.

Player Commitment
Players are expected to make a serious commitment to their spring team. While some players are involved in other sports, most coaches require that select team practices and games take precedence over other sports.

Playing Time
Select teams operate under AYSO guidelines. Players are guaranteed to play at least half of each game. Coaches are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and positive coaching.

Coaches
All spring coaches must be registered volunteers, Safe Haven certified and have some level of AYSO training.  Most spring coaches have several years of coaching experience, and hold the age appropriate AYSO coaching certificates. Most teams have assistant coaches who also have AYSO coaching experience.
